The Derma roller is a brilliant new gadget which has the brilliant ability to naturally stimulate collagen production in the skin without damaging it by making the skin to believe that it is damaged even though it is not and so it starts to heal itself and will continue to heal until the treatment is stopped. This means that so long as the treatment is carried out regularly, your skin will heal itself to a cosmetic level. Skin needling has many beneficial effects:
* Hair loss reduction (and possibly reversal)
* Anti Ageing
* Anti Wrinkle
* Cellulite Treatment
* Scar Treatment
* Stretch Mark Removal
* Hyper Pigmentation Treatment
The needles on a Derma roller are usually only 1mm long which gives a tickling sensation when used. However, other sizes do exsist with the longer sizes such as 2mm upto about 5mm being used by professionals using numbing cream and more vigorous treatments with longer breaks in between treatments whereas using a smaller needle length at home can be done up to five times a week with two days rest.
Not many people realize it, but the majority of the active ingredients in skin care products stays on the surface of your skin and are only partially absorbed. The Derma-roller has approximately 192 surgical steel micro-needles which can part the pores of the epidermis (top layer of skin) without damaging it. After about one hour the pores close again, but during that time, your skin is significantly better able to benefit from skin creams and lotions.
The skin initiates the healing process when it believes it is injured to seal up the affected area, but usually it will only heal as far as it must to keep you healthy. By often triggering the healing process by using a Derma roller to represent a trauma to be healed, you encourage your body to heal until the job is finished.

Previously Micro Needling was fairly pricey and needed you to visit a doctor; however Skin Needling is a normal practice in most average house holds. The skin roller is a easy to use device with many sterilized tiny needles which, {when rolled over the epidermis}, carefull separate the pores of the epidermis and start the healing process increasing the production of collagen and elastin.
Collagen is necessary for skin to heal
It is the production of this extra collagen and elastin that makes all the difference, the primary cause of the development of skin conditions including stretch marks and wrinkles is a lack of collagen and elastin in the skin, when this is replaced the skin goes back to its smooth and firm state. When the skin is injured, such as a cut, the skin heals itself enough to stay healthy; but unfortunately the skin doesn’t heal to a satisfactory level.
In order to remove Stretch marks, scars and facial wrinkles, the skin needs to believe that there is reason to restart the healing process producing more collagen and elastin, using a skin roller achieves this by gently seperating the pores of the upper layer of skin giving the impression of a trauma on the skin and needing to be repaired. Repeating the process of Micro Needling will make sure that you skin heals itself to a cosmetic level.
Is Micro Needling the best option?
Compared to other methods (and when done at home), Skin Needling is far cheaper and better then treatments such as only using creams as the skin takes in only a minor percentage of creams applied, however when applied within an hour of using the skin roller the creams are absorbed significantly better as the pores are open.
Micro Needling is used to reduce a wide range of skin conditions; Stretch marks, Cellulite, Wrinkles, pitted skin, acne scars, surgery scars, scars, crow’s feet etc
