Directory board signs are used commonly in reception areas within buildings to assist people with identifying what companies are in the building and on what level. Directory boards also sometimes contain information like amenities, exits and other general safety information.
Directory boards can be broken down into two main categories:
1.Freestanding plynth signs 2.Wall-mounted panels
Freestanding directory boards are used in situations where there is not a suitable wall to fix a wall-mounted panel to and the client has enough space to put a free-standing sign. These styles of directory boards can be clad in a lot of different substrates, however often they will have a steel core structure to provide strength to the sign. They can be anywhere in size from 1m high up to 3 metres in height, as wide and as colourful as you like. More and more clients are often looking to digital solutions.
The benefits of stand-alone directory boards include the ability to “stand-out” and be a key feature within a building, as well as being able to be placed pretty much anywhere. A down-side is that they are more expensive.
Wall-mounted directory boards are able to be made from different substrates including aluminium slat systems with magnetic backings and clear acrylic panels with vinyl letterings. The benefits of these systems is they are relatively easy to install onto an existing wall, and they are cheap.
What are the benefits of using digital screens in your directory boards? As we all know, tenants come and go with such frequency that constantly having to call your signage company to come out and change some of the details on the board can both take time and cost money. with a digital screen it can be as simple as turning on your computer and making the change using basic software. changes can literally be made in seconds! another advantage of going digital is that you can flash advertisements, weather, or other general snippets of information across the screen where and whenever you like.If you need a free directory to submit your website to,click on the links in this article.
